I am in the final stage of my studies at the University of Leipzig to become a conference interpreter. I grew up in Paraguay in a Mennonite Colony and have always considered volunteering as something very rewarding for both - those receiving and those giving. I am hoping to be able to use my skills to help others while at the same time gaining some more practical experience.

I am currently a high school French teacher in Northeastern Connecticut. I will be leaving my teaching position after this year and hope to put my language skills to use for a volunteer organization. I have done extensive travel through French and Spanish-speaking nations and look forward to potential opportunities to work abroad.

Recent university graduate (majored in Linguistics, Translation/Interpreting – Russian, English, German; and Russian Language Teaching) living in Russia. I believe international volunteering with IC can help me gain experience, learn more about the world and meet new interesting people, become more resilient and flexible. Languages are my occupation and vocation, my passion is photography, graphic design, animation and filmmaking. Russian poet, Nikolay Zabolotsky once wrote, ‘…your sprit must work night and day’ which can be interpreted as that one should never forget that we are surrounded by people who might need our help, so, never hesitate to them, make your spirit work. And this, I believe, is the very essence of volunteering.
